The Best smelling cologne- for Men

I have found that as I age my senses change. My old reliable cologne was Obsession for Men, I am not even sure how it started or who had actually picked out that particular brand? I did like the smell of it and really didn’t have any complaints from former girl friends so I guess I just let it ride. As I aged and I found my fiancé (Angie) and we started doing things together such as working out and Motorcycle riding. I began to trust her insights as she was always up for the next adventure whatever that may be. It made it easy and comfortable to listen to what she had to say! I actually learned a lot of things I had no clue I would be interested in from some ideas she threw out there, because you know you may learn something as well! I had never heard of Armani Code absolu before, however she suggested maybe trying a NEW cologne, just to see what I thought? She never complained about the old cologne but I said SURE why not.

It was an event to say the least as there are several hundred types and styles of cologne out there. We started at the mall as they usually have the most selection. Again to my surprise there was everything under the sun it seemed like! I am not a shopper so I usually have a plan and SPEED toward my final goal as quickly as possible. That was not the case here as I was out of my comfort zone so unfamiliar with what I was looking for to begin with. I had no idea you could actually clean the nostrils after smelling a cologne to give you a better chance of actually smelling the next scent. They had Coffee in bottles sitting right there to do just that?

It was also brought to my attention that you should let the scent mix with the oils on your skin and smell them again after a awhile. Turns out there are proper procedures to selecting the cologne and applying it as well. We all know the guy who smells like he SHOWERED in cologne before leaving the house, well I don’t want to be that guy! So I of course did some research afterwards to ensure I had at least the right application. We spent a great deal of time going through the options and after some back and forth the winner was Armani Code absolu.

How to apply Cologne was the next topic as it appears I have been doing it wrong by getting dressed and spraying then walking through the mist. It is best if you apply righty after showering on DRY skin. The shower cleanse your body of any other scents and opens your pores, which helps the scent absorb. Completely dry your skin and then spray holding the bottle 3-6 inches away from your body. Apply the cologne in heated areas which include neck, chest, pulse points, forearms or inner elbows. Start with a light application in other words pick one of the heated areas and apply to just that area, if you notice the scent fades quickly choose another area and spray the cologne there next time you apply. It’s a good idea to ask the opinion of close friends or family members if the application is appropriate, as you can become nose-blind to scents you wear often.

Spraying the cologne on your clothing directly prevents it from mixing with your natural oils, which give it a unique quality and can render it flat or monochrome. Some colognes can also damage the clothing so you need to be careful here as well! Rubbing the cologne onto skin actually makes the scent fade faster as it breaks the molecular bond in the fragrance. Less is more when it comes to cologne and you don’t want it to be overpowering. While applying cologne the correct way is important, it’s also important to chose a scent that compliments your natural body chemistry and fits your lifestyle. YES it is SCIENCE!

Some colognes (usually the more expensive ones) last longer then others. There are some that start out smelling one way but then smell slightly different throughout the day. you can learn which cologne is right for you by educating yourself on the complexities involved with Men’s’ Fragrances. I found Armani Code absolu to be the best fit for me after trying on juts about everyone at the store and with the help of my fiancé (Angie) to whom I owe my THANKS! At the mall it cost me $143 fir the bottle I have on this post just for a comparison.

Please fell free to add to or ask anything you would like to know I always welcome input.
